If you cleaning da overflow revoir you can put rice or sand in it and shake it up it scours the inside debris away but make sure to get it all out. I could not see coolant level before doing this now I can.
Thank you for the clear and concise video
since i have an a/c pully as well would anything change?
Where did you get the new calliper from please? Genuine or aftermarket?
I damaged one of my rear calipers like an idiot by using a C clamp and not knowing about that hidden allen key gear... So now I have to watch this video. It was great, thank you!
Hello MiataMods, Can you make a video about fixing the A/C in an NA or converting it to R134a? I would really appreciate it
My caliper doesnt move upwards after following the Steps
Great video! I just picked up my first '94 Miata with 36K on it. Oil change if first on the list.
7 jaar later, zelfde probleem, zelfde kleur spiegels besteld🫡😂
btw if anyone is looking into buying this now they changed the design so that the cable don’t need to be cut anymore
Is this automatic gearbox?
Tiny garage but I love how organized it is. Tall guys, small Miatas.
I got good improvement by cleaning switch contacts and putting reflective foil inside the lamp housing but did not change to LEDs. I'm a real cheap ass.
very good thank you
How diffrent is it for the 1.8
Great video! I need to install my frame rails asap
Watching this video gave me rage fits. Why do they have to make stuff so stupid
Really good video!!! Thanks!
Very hot water works better than a lighter. ✌️
Gonna take a crack at it tmrw. Very helpful video!
When you said you if you don't have a copper washer nd that you have a whole collection I expected you to share them
That looked like a crush washer...
Do I really have to drain all the coolant or can I just take off the top radiator hose and wing it?
Great video! I’ve done brakes once before and this was a great to refer to. Very informative and the camera angles are great. Thank you.
Just did a flush today, with this videos help! Also, the thermostat video was very helpful. I ended up boiling the thermostat just to make sure that wasn't the issue, since mine was overheating. But a thermostat gasket, and a flush later was all I needed. Thanks!
Hoping this fixes my P0300 misfire error on my 230km ‘97 NA
I had that same model of aluminium caps and got stuck even i putty ceramic pastes onto stems 🤦♂️I had to grind caps with Dremel all the way to the threads. Duckt tape on pillars and 12 mm wrench got them off😂😂😂
But the front wheels are up in the air, you aren't going to get all of it out.
Hey man love your videos and how at home friendly they are!! Do you know of any issues with messing with the air fuel ration by adding the filter and the kinks in tubing?
I've had this setup for 7 years now and no problems what so ever so I would say no 😄
Do you like the head unit you have!
Yes I do, it fits the look of the car very well
simple and easy to follow
Great to hear my friend
awesome
Thanks bro
When doing this is the E brake pulled? Or is in the resting position? Might have missed this part lol
E-brake should not be engaged!
@@MiataMods Thank you!!!!
Hello... I drive an MX 5 NA Miata 1.8L (only when the weather is nice), now 30 years old and has done 160,000 km. What kind of engine oil would you recommend? Thanks, Hardy
Depends on a number of factors; where you live, the temperature, how hard you drive the car. It's a choice you have to make for yourself!
Thanks
This is a COOOOOOOOOL video. Quick tip, always keep the rad cap loose on the radiator (when doing the job) so nothing falls into it by accident, that can also be done for the oil cap when doing oil changes. Same principal applys for simular jobs. If not the cap, then just put something over the holes to be safe, like a towel. Don't forget to bring a towel. 😂
That's a great tip, thanks for sharing!
You ever find sometimes the oil cap can be a P.I.T.A to unscrew? Just apply some grease or oil to the threads before turning it back on and it will be user friendly next time you want to undo it if you are low on oil or doing the next change. I like how you wore gloves for the whole thing being careful except actually applying new oil to the filters gasket with your bare finger, that made me chuckle some.
That's a great tip, thanks for sharing!
Its so satisfying hearing the engine get throaty being able to breathe more air. It never gets old. But we do need to take care of our own bodies and stop polluting the air as we can keep breathing deep throaty breathes. Not like darth vader but you know what I mean. Most of you anyways.
Yeah I still love the sound it makes!
Man I went to the hardware stores today to try and build this but it’s gotten to the point that it’s cheaper to buy a metal one off of Amazon than to build my own. What a shame. But thanks for the video!
Yeah stuff is getting crazy expensive! Sucks for the DIY'ers...
What if I don’t have access to or heat bc I did a delete
Doesn't matter, it flows through the engine and heater core no matter what, you don't have to adjust the heating
@@MiataMods soudns good thank you
This helped me more than you know, was watching your guide for pads and disks, came across my rear calipers were seized, and here we go, you have a guide for that too! A tip for any NB facelift owners though, the brake caliper holder (with the slide pin) will interfere with the brake disk, so you will have to remove it - the top bolt can also be obscured by the ABS sensor, so use a long box wrench, or remove the sensor bracket (1 bolt on top)
Thanks for sharing that info! I will pin your comment so others can see it as well! 👍
2024 and this was the best video... subbed
Thanks man, this video was a lot of work but it helped a lot of people!
Reminder to California residents. Evap canisters are required for inspection.(I’m getting a smog and found out the hard way after following this tutorial a year ago).
Really? Damn that sucks... good luck my CA viewers!
I bought this kit and installed it. 2 weeks after install the lens covering the bulb fell out. A week later the light stopped working. JASS products are NOT to be trusted.
Sorry to hear that Michael! I suggest contacting JASS regarding the failure
I think the original location is the worst place to put your license plate on a miata. Looks like a pornstache. Glad u fixed it! Looking great
Thanks bro, I like it as well!
My pads dont have the holes for the little spring tension clips. The pads on it before dont have the tiny holes for the tension clips either...
Alright well that's not the end of the world, just install the hardware without the clips, you'll be fine
Thanks for this awesome demonstration man! Gotta replace my alternator belt today and this definitely helped!
No worries, hope the job went well!
Always good your video, i am doing so much myself now! The girl is now a mechanic semi-pro lol
Nice job! 👍
Great video. I'm doing this now too and this is my go-to video. Do you feel that you need to do the calipers in pairs? Also, I have the "Sport Suspension" NB2 so the hardware is a bit different. No springs and the metal clips are different.
Personally no, I just replace the caliper whenever it's broken. Yes, the springs/clips are different so be sure to get the correct hardware. Good luck!
Great video !!!!
Thanks Scott!
Chuckle... I had to watch this video to remember where the oil filter was. I looked towards the bottom of the block and didn't see it. Thank goodness around 3 minutes into the video you showed the placement of the filter under the intake manifold on the passenger side. ;) Thanks much.
Haha glad my video was helpful 🙌
